Swing-tail cargo opening of the completed Mini Guppy (above) includes fuselage support spar, tail wheel and swing-tail attachment hinges. A portion of the aft fuselage is visible. The tail wheel (below) is adjustable in height and can be maneuvered with an integral worm-and-gear mechanism to swing the tail around. The wheel is located beneath the center of gravity of the moving section to minimize loads on the attachment hinges. The wheel is lowered hydraulically.
